Trust

Trust

“Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.” - Proverbs 16:20

It has been said that the hardest thing for any soldier to learn is obeying a command they believe to be wrong. What they need to learn is to trust that their commanding officers more than they own judgment. They need to understand that their commanders have a better understanding and perspective of the mission and that they orders are for the best.

Solomon says that we will be blessed if we trust in the Lord. Sometimes we are told to do things that either we simply do not want to or believe that we know better. God always has a better understanding and perspective of our lives than we do. Think back in your life to a time where you felt 100% certain that you knew what was best and what was going to be only to find out that you were wrong. We simply do not always know what is best. God does.

All commands he gives us are for our good. There should never be a doubt about that. By doing his commandments, we will be a blessed people. There are benefits to keeping God’s commandments that we cannot see and may never see. I suspect that our lives have been in ways that we have never fully appreciated by keeping God’s commands in the past. Imagine how much more they will be blessed if we keep them in the future.
